Best Time to Hike
Sunrise (Best)
Trail opens at 6 AM. Arrive at the trailhead by 5:45 AM to reach the summit at sunrise. The light is spectacular, the temperature is cool, and you'll share the summit with far fewer people.
Early Morning (Good)
6–8 AM is still excellent. After 9 AM the trail gets crowded and the heat builds quickly. By midday the temperature at the summit can exceed 90°F with no shade.
